Training involves the treatment and diagnosis of various sports related dental injuries.
Basics of Sports Dentistry
It encompasses the fabrication of custom fit mouthguards. These have been shown to protect the teeth and help prevent concussions during sports related activities.
Our office is proud to be the Official Volunteer Team Dentist for Florida Atlantic University and also the US Olympic Team. Dr. Staller is a Fellow in the International Academy for Sports Dentistry and spends time with various sports teams.
Dr. Staller has been an integral part of the FAU Football program. He is one of the original founders of the football program and believed in the importance of collegiate sports before there was even a football at the University. Since then, he has been a mentor to many of the student athletes and is often on the sidelines of games.

Dental Services You Can Trust
The reduction of concussions has been attributed to improved equipment including custom fit mouthguards.
Custom designed mouthguards are made of flexible plastic and molded to fit the shape of your teeth. Mouthguards are recommended to protect the jaw and teeth during physical activity in sports such as boxing, football, basketball or any other activity where you mouth may be hit.
With new technologies, some mouthguards can even be fitted to include a chip to monitor the performance of a player, track speed and impact. A large sports company has even shown through science that mouthguards can increase strength, improve endurance and reduce athletic stress.
Schedule mouthguard fitting!
Whether it’s Pee Wee Football or the NFL, custom fit mouthguards are very important. A custom fit mouthguard allows for easier breathing because the guard is custom fit and is not bulky and can protect the teeth and jaw when it is worn.
